About YA for WA

YA for WA is a hub for all things young adult (YA) literature in Western Australia. The initiative began in 2021 by Bianca Breen as a way to highlight the talent of WA's YA authors, promote local authors and books, and connect and inspire new and emerging WA writers. We are doing this by:

  • centralising information about YA books by WA authors

  • hosting meet-ups for writers both in-person and online

  • promoting YA events and content by West Australians

Louise is a lifelong Perthian, adventure addict, fantasy fanatic and dystopian devotee. Some of her favourite books include Deltora Quest, Six of Crows and Ender’s Game. A marketer by day, she steals moments by night to write her own fiction, with a taste for things that are bleak, dark, but ultimately full of love. You can find her on Instagram as @louisewritesthings, where she shares what she’s doing when she should be writing."

Georgia moved to Perth in 2020 to study in WA. A coffee lover by day and gin connoisseur by night, she loves all fictional fantasy books, especially if there is a cheeky bit of spice. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas is her all time favorite series but Lynette Noni’s Blood Traitor series has crept up to a close second.
